ElevatedShortcut is my project from the past. It was created in early 2010 and it was never introduced here. So let me fix this mistake. ElevatedShortcut is a free portable application which supports Windows 7 and [now] Windows 8. It can create the special shortcut which will suppress UAC prompt in case if it is usually appeared, i.e application will be started elevated without any prompt.
The key features of ElevatedShortcut are following:
Create new elevated shortcut or convert existing shortcut to elevated.
Delete the previously created shortcut.
Explorer context menu integration for exe, cmd, bat and com files.
Russian and English UI language.
All elevated shortcuts will be created using Windows Task Scheduler, so you will be able to use them even if you have deleted the ElevatedShortcut application.
An application which is started from the elevated shortcut will have NORMAL priority instead of BELOW NORMAL (like Task Scheduler does it by default) for better performance.
I think that this is really awesome and works really well!
I've been looking for something like this cause one of my application requires admin rights but I don't want the UAC screen to pop up when a client uses my software. I am therefore asking if it would be okay for me to distribute your utility with my application CoreLock. Of course, you will be credited.
I'm also inviting you to join my group InTime Applicaitons. Come this Christmas, you might be entitled to get a free 1 year subscription to dA. Right now, you are my #1 choice!
Well yes, but disabling the security mechanism of a whole OS is probably the worst you can do. Most people who are disabling UAC also bitch about how unsecure Windows is, which is just dumb and ignorant. Imagine one of those tools wants to install a trojan on your system, whats the point of UAC if the user just disables it at the REQUEST of the Author? Those stupid hints just lead to a rising number of infected computers. Not that this tool here is dangerous or anything, but it makes the door wide open for malware and viruses.
I am sorry
